My Story So Far…
My Story
I’m Jazz, the florist behind Cavendish Florals, a small, growing studio in Waterlooville where I create relaxed, garden inspired arrangements with a homely, freshly gathered feel. My journey into floristry has very humble beginnings, shaped by a love of flowers, a love of gifting and a desire to create something meaningful with my hands.
Where It All Began
I’ve always enjoyed working with flowers, but things truly began when I bought my first home. I started making simple arrangements for my dining room table, nothing fancy, just little moments that made the house feel warm and lived in. Friends and family began asking for bouquets and before long I found myself creating gifts for birthdays, celebrations and “just because” moments. What started as a hobby slowly grew into something I loved and wanted to make a career out of.
From Teaching to Floristry
After years as a primary school teacher, I made the decision to follow my passion and step into floristry more fully. I’ve trained at the Lily and Bee Floristry School in Southwick, Hampshire, and I continue to build my skills through workshops, courses and hands on learning. I’m still developing, still growing, still discovering my style, and I love that. Floristry is a craft you never stop learning.
My Values and Style
Sustainability is an important part of my practice. I adore my garden and I want the flowers I work with to have as little environmental impact as possible. I design seasonally, minimise waste and choose eco friendly materials wherever I can. I’m drawn to arrangements that feel rustic, natural and freshly picked, the kind of flowers that look like they’ve just been gathered from an English cottage garden.
Looking Ahead
Cavendish Florals is still in its early chapters and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me so far. Every order, every message, every kind word, helps me move closer to my dream of making this my full time career one day. I’m excited for the next phases of my floral journey, more learning, more creating and more opportunities to bring thoughtful, garden inspired flowers into people’s lives.
Studio Life with Cuba
And of course, I can’t forget my dog Cuba! My loyal studio companion and occasional troublemaker. He’s often found snoozing under the workbench, inspecting stems or causing chaos and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A Thank You
Thank you for following along on this journey. Your support helps me continue developing my craft and gives me the confidence to keep building Cavendish Florals, one bouquet at a time. I am so grateful for each and every one of you and the part you play in this developing story.
