Stepping Into Wedding Florals… and the Pricing Minefield

This week brought a new milestone for Cavendish Florals — my first official wedding enquiry. A real couple, planning their real day, asking me to create their flowers. It felt exciting, surreal and a little overwhelming all at once.

What I didn’t expect was how quickly I’d find myself deep in stem counts, spreadsheets and the confusing world of wedding pricing. It truly is a minefield. There are so many variables, so many styles and so many ways to build a bouquet that it’s no wonder wedding floristry feels like a world of its own.

This is a new stage of learning for me and I’m navigating it slowly. I want to price fairly, sustainably and with confidence, but getting there takes time, research and plenty of “is this right?” moments. It’s challenging, but it’s also pushing me to grow in ways I didn’t see coming.

Even with the head‑spinning maths, I’m grateful for this enquiry. It’s a sign that Cavendish Florals is moving forward and that people are trusting me with their most meaningful moments. That means everything.
