We’ve Booked a Wedding!
There are moments in a small business that feel like real turning points and today brought one I’ll never forget. Cavendish Florals has booked its first ever wedding. It still feels surreal to write that. What began as an enquiry has grown into a full booking for a spring wedding and I couldn’t be more excited.
The First Enquiry
It all started with an instagram message from a bride who had been following my work for a while. She loved the natural, garden inspired style I’m known for as a local florist Waterlooville and wanted to know if I could create her wedding flowers for her spring celebration. Even reading her message gave me a flutter of nerves and joy. Wedding floristry has always been a dream but stepping into it for the first time felt like a big new chapter.
We talked through her ideas, her colours and the feeling she wanted her flowers to bring. Soft, romantic, seasonal and full of personality, everything I love about spring weddings.
Creating a Personalised Mood Board
Once I understood her vision, I created a personalised mood board to bring everything to life. I included colour palettes, flower suggestions and examples of shapes and textures that suited her style. Think soft roses, delicate ranunculus, airy foliage and seasonal touches that make spring weddings feel so full.
Alongside the mood board, I sent a clear pricing guide. Wedding pricing can feel overwhelming, especially for couples planning their day, so I wanted everything to feel simple and transparent. No fuss, no confusion, just honest guidance and space for her to choose what felt right.
This part of the process made me realise how much I enjoy the creative planning behind weddings. It’s a new stage of learning for me and I’m taking it slowly, but it’s a challenge I’m excited to grow into as I continue building Cavendish Florals with a focus on sustainable floristry and thoughtful design.
The Booking… Today
And today, she booked!
Seeing her message pop up felt like the biggest rush. She loved the mood board, felt confident in the plan and wanted Cavendish Florals to create her wedding flowers. For a bride to trust me with such an important part of her day means more than I can say.
This booking isn’t just a date in the diary. It’s a sign of growth, trust and the loveliest support from people discovering my little studio. It’s the start of something I’ve dreamed of for a long time.
Looking Ahead
There will be more learning, more planning and plenty more mood boards in my future but right now I’m simply grateful. Grateful for the trust, the encouragement and the chance to bring someone’s wedding flowers to life.
If you’re planning your wedding and love natural, romantic flowers created with care, you can explore the wedding page on my website or follow along on Instagram for behind the scenes moments from the studio.
