What Happens Before Your Flowers Arrive
Some mornings start long before the sun comes up and this was one of them. Before any bouquets are made or deliveries go out there is a quiet part of the job that no one really sees. Conditioning the flowers. Giving them time to drink, open up and settle so they are at their absolute best when they reach someone’s home.
This photo was taken after an early start spent trimming stems, refreshing buckets and letting each bunch wake up properly. It is not the glamorous side of floristry but it is one of the most important. It is the difference between flowers that last a day and flowers that last the week and hopefully more!
I love this part of the process. It is calm, slow and methodical. By the time the studio gets busy the flowers are already prepared and ready to be turned into something beautiful.
If you ever want to know more about how I prepare flowers or what goes into a Cavendish Florals bouquet I am always happy to share the behind the scenes.
